Tara J. Colavecchio is a renowned celebrity stylist and the proprietor of Dragonfly Hair Studio – Westchester’s first green salon.
For the past 22 years, Tara has worked at the world’s most exclusive salons; among them Chaz Dean, Frédéric Fekkai, Chinois, and Pierre Michel.
Her independent commissions have included Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, L’Oreal / Maybelline, Marc Jacobs, Martha Stewart, the MTV & VH1 Fashion Awards, the Emmys , the Tonys, and the Kennedy Honor Awards.
Tara’s celebrity clientele consists of Claudia Schiffer, Harry Hamlin, Peter Gallagher, Rosie O’Donnell, Julie Louise-Dreyfus, Wayne Gretzky, Marla Maples, Sigourney Weaver, and Cindy Crawford.

As a Stylist and Colorist, with over twenty years of experience, Shelley has traveled extensively throughout the country as an acknowledged beauty ambassador. A former member of José Eber's team – one of the most recognized names in hair styling -- Shelly's ardent pursuit of beauty’s best practices puts her at the forefront of the industry. We are thrilled to have her as a part of the Dragonfly team.
Astrid Cohen
Master Hair Colorist
During her apprenticeship with Stephen Knoll – “America’s Master of Hair Design” – Astrid began to develop her unique hair coloring methodology. She bolstered her approach with extensive practical color training under the prestigious Frederic Fekkai and continued to build her career at Pierre Michel Studios and Pashah Salon.
Now with over twenty years of education and practical experience, Astrid has mastered exclusive methods specifically in the area of Balayage, a creative freehand painting technique. Employing this specialized skill and combining it with Ombre foil highlighting; she has established a reputation for creating a contoured, natural look and feel. Astrid incorporates a new level of coloring with tone on tone, shadow details, and highlights to encompass every client’s personal coloring needs.
Currently located at the Warren Tricomi Salon – in the beautiful Plaza Hotel – Astrid offers her hair coloring expertise in a calming and creative environment. In this upscale and unmatched setting, she provides an attentive and personal approach that is sensitive to the client’s needs while dedicated to matching one’s hair to their overall style.

Senior Makeup Artist
After nearly a decade working as a freelance artist, Jen had the unique opportunity to work with the renowned Trish McEvoy in teaching women The Power of Makeup™.With her artistic flair and inviting personality, Jen makes the journey to a more beautiful and confident you a truly transformative experience. Her signature ability in using a broad spectrum of colors in a cohesive fashion has rightfully staked her reputation as one of the best in the business.
Faith
Color Artist
After internships at MTV News and MSNBC and gigs as a celebrity gossip blogger for Xanga.com and Lovelyish.com, Faith realized she wanted to take a hands-on approach to helping women find their self-esteem. A firm believer in beauty from both inside and out, Faith changed her career path from Journalism/Media to Cosmetology/Styling.
Having apprenticed with Jo Blackwell-Preston, owner of Dop Dop in SoHo and Senior Portfolio Color Artist for L’Oréal Professionnel and Janet St. Paul, formerly of Frederic Fekkai, now owner of Janet St. Paul Studio for Hair; Faith completed her training with Dragonfly Hair Studio.
Faith was featured in Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey and writes for Natural Hair blogs. She is Reiki I certified, a Surface Hair Educator, as well as Dragonfly’s Social Media and Marketing Manager.
